My name is Sharon Hand and I am an Independent Celebrant.
My role is to work alongside you to help create personal, unique, ceremonies whatever the occasion.
I am based in Wolverhampton, but am happy to travel throughout the West Midlands and the surrounding counties of Shropshire and Staffordshire to help you and your loved ones share your most cherished life experiences, memories and celebrations.
Naming Ceremonies, Graduations, New Home, Recovery from Illness.
My name is Sharon Hand. I am an Independent Celebrant who is passionate about hearing the stories that help to shape and define all of our lives.
Working alongside you, I want to help you share those stories in ways you would like them to be told, with passion, with humour, with empathy for the occasion be it a wedding, a milestone celebration, a naming ceremony or the passing of a loved one.
I believe in building relationships so I can become a confidant who you can trust with your cherished and most heartfelt moments so that they can be shared with friends and family, creating unique memorable experiences that celebrate our past, present and future lives.
I offer an inclusive, open approach which celebrates and respects the differences that make us all so unique. I am happy to offer my support and guidance when you may be finding it difficult to express how you are feeling, but I believe it is important that the meaning behind those words is always a true and heartfelt expression of what you hold to be most dear.
When it comes to marking life’s big moments, more and more couples in the UK are turning to celebrants to create unique, meaningful ceremonies that truly reflect who they are.
At Cara Ceremonies I can create and lead a wide range of ceremonies for couples, including:
Weddings: A celebrant-led wedding can take place anywhere - on a beach, in your garden, at a venue with special meaning, and include any wording, rituals, or cultural traditions you wish. (Note: in England and Wales, you still need to complete the legal registration separately at a registry office or with a registrar.)
Civil Partnership Ceremonies: Celebrant-led ceremonies for civil partnerships are common for couples who have had a legal registration and want a meaningful, bespoke ceremony. These can include vows, readings, music, and symbolic elements (like handfasting).
Vow Renewals: A popular way for couples to reaffirm their love after a milestone anniversary or life event.
Commitment Ceremonies: Perfect for couples who want a meaningful celebration without the legal aspect.
Elopement Ceremonies: Small, intimate celebrations, often in unique or remote locations.
My aim is to become a trusted figure to you, someone who knows your story and can help you mark those chapters that mean so much to you and your family in a deeply personal way. These may include
Vow Renewals: To celebrate an anniversary or reaffirm vows after a tough time.
Naming Ceremonies: When welcoming a child into the family.
Family Unity Ceremonies: Blending families together.
Milestone Celebrations: Special birthdays or other key moments.
Graduations: Recognising the achievements of individual family member or a group of employees
Recovery from Illness: Celebrating the outcome of a challenging life journey
At Cara Ceremonies we help to create, lead, and officiate a wide range of end-of-life ceremonies, tailored to the wishes, beliefs, and needs of the deceased and their loved ones — without being tied to any specific religious institution or fixed tradition.
Funeral Services: The main farewell ceremony at a crematorium, cemetery, woodland burial site, or other venue — can be completely non-religious, semi-religious, or spiritual but not affiliated with a particular faith.
Memorial Services: A gathering to remember the deceased, which can happen weeks, months, or even years after the death — especially useful if there is no body present (e.g., ashes scattered elsewhere).
Celebration of Life Ceremonies: A more uplifting, personal event focused on celebrating the person’s life, achievements, personality, and memories — often more informal than a traditional funeral.
Graveside or Committal Services: Short ceremonies at the burial site or when interring or scattering ashes — can be held alone or as an addition to another service.
Ashes Scattering Ceremonies: A bespoke ritual when ashes are scattered at a meaningful place, often including readings, poems, or symbolic acts.
Anniversary or Remembrance Events: Marking a significant date, such as the anniversary of a death or birth, with a meaningful gathering.
Living Funerals: Less common but growing — a person chooses to have a ceremony celebrating their life before they die, often when they have a terminal diagnosis.
Pet Memorials: Ceremonies for beloved pets, which can be deeply comforting for families.
Working with a celebrant gives you the freedom to hold a unique ceremony that’s as individual as your story - whatever the occasion.
Whether you’re planning a business achievement, a graduation celebration or marking any other personal or corporate milestone, a celebrant can help you create memories you’ll cherish forever.
It would be a privilege for me to be part of your life celebration. Please send me a message with any questions you may have, or to enquire about my booking my services.
I look forward to hearing from you and I will get back to you very soon!
